Massage Therapy

Therapeutic massage involves manipulation of the soft tissue structures of the body to prevent and alleviate pain, discomfort, muscle spasm, and stress.

It also improves functioning of the circulatory, lymphatic and nervous systems and may improve the rate at which the body recovers from injuries and illness. Massage comes in many forms, including:

  • Swedish - a gentle, relaxing massage
  • Pressure Point Therapy for specific disease or injuries - from trigger point and myotherapy to shiatsu and acupressure
  • Sports massage focuses on muscle groups relevant to a particular sport.

Massage is prescribed at our office for a wide range of medical conditions, including:

  • Allergies
  • Headache
  • Arthritis
  • Insomnia
  • Asthma and Bronchitis
  • Myofascial pain
  • Carpal Tunnel Syndrome
  • Reduced range of motion
  • Chronic and Acute Pain
  • Sinusitis
  • Circulatory problems
  • Sports Injuries, including pulled or strained muscles & ligaments
  • Digestive Disorders, including spastic colon and constipation
  • Stress
  • Temporomandibular joint function (TMJ)

Dr. Briggs Asks some important questions of interest to Wilmington residents - Chiropractor Wilmington Dr. Briggs Asks...

How do chiropractors help ADHD?
There is agreement that ADHD is a nervous system disorder. And while chiropractic isn't a treatment for ADHD, if your child has subluxations, resolving them will often produce profound results. Click here to learn why more and more Wilmington parents are choosing natural chiropractic care rather than dangerous psychotropic drugs.
Where do most Wilmington residents get their first subluxation?
Being born in a hospital is a common source of subluxation. Trauma from forceps delivery has been replaced with drugs, vacuum extraction, Cesarean section and births that are "scheduled" to fit the workweek routines of Ob-Gyns. That's why we recommend a chiropractic checkup for every Wilmington newborn.
