Massage Therapy

Therapeutic massage involves manipulation of the soft tissue structures of the body to prevent and alleviate pain, discomfort, muscle spasm, and stress.

It also improves functioning of the circulatory, lymphatic and nervous systems and may improve the rate at which the body recovers from injuries and illness. Massage comes in many forms, including:

  • Swedish - a gentle, relaxing massage
  • Pressure Point Therapy for specific disease or injuries - from trigger point and myotherapy to shiatsu and acupressure
  • Sports massage focuses on muscle groups relevant to a particular sport.

Massage is prescribed at our office for a wide range of medical conditions, including:

  • Allergies
  • Headache
  • Arthritis
  • Insomnia
  • Asthma and Bronchitis
  • Myofascial pain

Dr. Briggs Asks some important questions of interest to Wilmington residents - Chiropractor Wilmington Dr. Briggs Asks...

Can babies with colic be helped with chiropractic?
It's probably one of the times a parent feels the most helpless. But based on the research, chiropractic and colic relief appear to go hand in glove. With success rates in the mid-90% range, more and more Wilmington parents are seeing a chiropractor. If you have a baby with colic learn how chiropractic may help.
How could chiropractic help a stomach problem?
Chiropractic works by locating and reducing areas of the spine compromising nerve communications between your brain and your body. If nerves to or from your stomach are irritated, your stomach won't work right. Chiropractors find the source of the interference, reduce it and allow your body to work as designed.
